Settings for Recording Terminal and Current Status View
Settings for the work terminal (recording terminal) and the current status page can be defined at both the working community settings level and the setting group level.
Defining Settings at the Working Community Settings Level
At the working community settings level, the settings can be found in two different menus. First, let’s describe the settings found behind the menu path: Worktime -> Administration -> Working community settings -> Recording Terminal & Current Status view.
The “Recording terminal module enabled” option is always set to ‘Yes’ by default. You don’t need to make any changes to it. This setting allows the use of the recording terminal if it is enabled in your organization.
The “Page URL” link provides access to the Current Status View service via a web address. This can be useful, for example, when users need to use the Current Status View on an external device (such as a tablet within the organization’s premises). If RFID authentication or PIN code authentication is required, it must also be done when using this link.
Log in possible with the Recording Terminal setting defines if it´s possible to log in using the PIN code.
For recording terminals:
“Login with PIN code disabled” = Only fingerprint login
“Login with PIN code” = PIN code login enabled and also RFID/fingerprint login possible if readers are connected
“Login with RFID reader only” = Only RFID login enabled
For desktop recording terminals:
“Login with PIN code disabled” and “Login with RFID reader only” mean the same thing: login is possible only with an RFID reader.
“Login with PIN code” = Both RFID and PIN code login are enabled.
The option to allow comments in the web terminal and current status view is set to ‘No’ by default, meaning that commenting is not enabled. You can turn on commenting by selecting ‘Yes’ as the setting.
Display Notifications on the Work Terminal & Current Status View Page The “Display notifications on the work terminal & current state view page” option shows the notifications created in the Communication section on both the work terminal and the Current State View. By default, this setting is set to ‘Yes’. Note that the Communication section is not enabled by default. If you want to enable the Communication section in your organization, please contact your contract liaison. The “Navigate to the Current Status View page after login” setting allows you to choose whether, after logging in, you are directly taken to the Current State View.
Another menu with settings can be found under Worktime → Administration → Organization Settings → Work Hours → Recording Terminal & Current Status View.
The “Current State View enabled” setting indicates whether the Current State View is active. By default, it is set to ‘Yes,’ and the Current State View is visible in the service. The “Allow modification of start and end times on the work terminal” setting determines whether a person can edit the start and end times of an event when recording it on the work terminal. This can be useful, for example, if someone starts work at one location and then moves to another location later in the day. Events recorded using modified start and end times are logged as separate “work elsewhere” events. The default setting for modifying start and end times is ‘No.’
The “Input interval for start and end times” setting allows you to define the precision (in minutes) with which start and end times can be adjusted. This can be useful in situations where working hours need to be handled with a minimum accuracy of 15 minutes.
The “Show projects” setting determines whether the Project tab is displayed when recording an event on the registration terminal and in the Current State View. Enabling this allows work to be allocated to specific projects or targets when using the work terminal and Current State View.
The setting “Has terminals working in cafeteria mode” indicates whether the organization uses so-called “lunch terminals” or recording terminals for handling lunch and café payments. This setting is enabled by Nepton or the partner’s contact person if required. It should not be modified.
Defining settings at the settings group level
Setting Group Settings can be found in Worktime → Administration → Setting Groups → Desired Setting Group → Setting Group Settings → Recording terminal & current status.
In the section Log in possible with the Recording Terminal, you can specify whether PIN code login is allowed on the work terminal for this setting group.
By default, the option to allow comments in the web terminal and current state view is set to 'Not set', meaning that commenting is not enabled. You can enable commenting by selecting 'Yes' as the setting.
