Only users who are "Administrator", "Human Resources" or "Payroll" can set role and person group to another user. Without restrictions, the Unit manager could grant access to data from other units by setting the worktime role to "Administrator" or adding persons to person groups in other units.
Visibility to same/higher level roles:
If a person has Unit Manager or Supervisor role, they do not have visibility to other persons with the same or higher level role, even if they are their supervisor. A person with same level/higher level role is visible in the Persons list, but the magnifying glass icon is not shown, i.e. the person's information cannot be opened. This is a feature of the service that cannot be modified.
Modifying role permissions
Go Employees > Administration > Settings > General.
Here you can make the following changes:
This setting determines whether a person in the Supervisor role can view and modify the information of the users set as their subordinates. Primary and secondary subordinates are treated as equal in terms of editing data. If this setting is not on, the Supervisor can only see limited basic information of their subordinates. Note! If the subordinate assigned to the supervisor has a higher role than the supervisor, then the supervisor cannot view this person's information.
Unit manager can view and edit person information in his/her unit:
This setting determines whether a person in the Unit Manager role can view and edit information of persons in their unit. If this right is not activated, the Unit manager cannot see the persons in their unit, except if the people are set as their subordinates.
Unit manager can add persons into his/her unit:
This setting determines whether a person in the role of "Unit manager" can add new people to their own unit.
