The desired absence types can be displayed in the service. In addition, the type of absence can be determined by its pay and whether that type of absence accrues annual leave.

If you want the person to be able to specify the type of absence compensation when creating the event, select Can approve personal events under Medium-level permissions.
If you want the person to be able to specify the type of absence compensation when creating the event for their subordinates, select Can edit and approve subordinates entries under Medium-level permissions.
If you do not want the person to have these rights, deselect them.
