Nepton has a comprehensive selection of event types. It is possible to define the use and visibility of these event types both in Working community settings and at a setting group level. However, your work community may use event types that cannot be found ready in the service. In such situations, you can add your own event type to the service, and define its behavior logic.
A new event type is added through the menu Work time > Administration > Working community settings > Work hours > Event types by choosing Add event type.
In the pop-up window, enter a name and a code for the new event type, and select its behaviour logic from the drop-down menu (Behaviour). The behaviour defines that the new event type behaves in the work time calendar in the same way as one of the existing event types. It for example accumulates working hours or is counted as an unpaid absence.
You should not change the behaviour of an added event after creation.
Although it is technically possible, the changes also have a retrospective effect and all already saved events using the event type may have to be saved again.
Note! It is not possible to create a new event type that would behave like Lunch or Travel invoice.
It is possible to add translations of a created event type by selecting 'Other languages'. You can add a translation for all the languages supported by the system.
The added event can be found in the list of event types. The pen icon in front of the event type indicates that it is an added event type.
After adding the event type, define also where and to whom the new event type will be visible. In the Event type administration settings, you can define if the total time marked for the event type is shown in the calendar view summary, if the event type is shown in shift planning and if overtime pay is targeted exceptionally.
If you make changes to the event type settings in the working community settings where the new event type was added, the settings apply to the entire working community by default. You can define setting group specific exceptions to event type visibility and other settings in the settings of each setting group. More detailed instructions for enabling and modifying the visibility of an event type can be found in this article.
