General
With setting groups, you can define calculation settings that differ from the community settings for a specific group of employees. Using setting groups, you can set different rules for employees under various working time models or TES agreements regarding work obligations and balance accumulation.
Rules have been established in the settings of the setting group, which dictate how the events of the members of that setting group are handled. It is advisable to establish a separate setting group for each working time model. It is recommended to create at least one setting group for hourly-paid employees and one for monthly-paid employees. Grouping can also be based on the collective agreements (TES) in use.
Functions
You can manage functions related to setting groups from the Worktime section, under Administration – Setting Groups. In the window that opens, you can view and edit the selected setting groups through the Action menu using the Setting Group menu.
In the Setting Group Information section, you can edit the name, code and description of the setting group. The setting group can also be deleted in the Setting Group Information section if necessary. However, deleting a setting group that has been in use will affect the working time calculation of the individuals who belonged to that setting group, so it is always advisable to consider deletion carefully.
In the Setting Group Settings section, you can manage the definitions related to the calculation settings for the setting group.
The Setting Group Members function is used to manage the members of the setting group. With this function, you can add a person to a setting group or change their setting group. Please note that a person can only belong to one setting group at a time. You can find instructions for adding a person to a setting group here.
The Move Setting Group function allows you to move a setting group under another setting group, the “parent group,” as a “subgroup.” When moving setting groups, it should be noted that if the parent group has an exception that is not intended to be used in the subgroup, a separate exception setting must be created for that setting at the subgroup level. It is advisable not to create too many hierarchical levels to keep the management of settings as effortless as possible.
You can find detailed instructions for moving a setting group here.
The Add Setting Group function allows you to create a new setting group. You can find detailed instructions here.
Tasks related to setting groups, such as new setting changes or transferring individuals from one setting group to another, should always be done using the validity function on the right side of the row. This involves ending the old setting on the previous date and starting the new one from the next date. This ensures that the new changes do not affect calculations based on previous settings.
